Sub:   The Customs International Executive Management Program (CIEMP) of the Australian Customs Service to be held from 13th October to 14th November 2008 in Canberra.

Sirs,

The Australian Customs Service has invited the Indian Customs Administration to nominate one “senior customs officer who has the potential to advance to a high level in customs management” for the Customs International Executive Management Program (CIEMP) to be held from 13th October to 14th November 2008 in Canberra.

2.         CIEMP is a rigorous classroom-based program presenting contemporary management theory and practice in a customs context.  The Australian Customs would fully fund one participant from India including the provision of return economy air travel, shared accommodation in a two or three-bedroom apartment in Canberra, allowances for meals and incidental costs and tuition fee.  It is not therefore, appropriate for the participant to be accompanied by spouses, partners or other family members.

3.         You are requested to forward the nomination of one officer under your charge, strictly on merit of the officer, in the prescribed proforma, (uploaded on CBEC website) so as to reach the undersigned latest by 27th August 2008.  Nomination received after 27th August in the Ministry will not be considered for forwarding to the Australian Customs Service.

3.         Advance copy of the application (alongwith Bio-data of the officer) may be e-mailed at Indiacustoms@gmail.com.

                        Yours faithfully,

(M.K. SINGH)

Director (International Customs)
